One of five songs I made for the musical setting of a theatre stage performance by two actors. (the same for the next four songs).
It's about a shipwreck, the 'father' of the narrator is the subject of the story. You can hear the ship engine, some electronic communication, seagulls and lotsa 'rain' and water :-)
I don't think he saved his life, but the song does :-)

This one is located in a huge wet cave or something.
Reverberating chemical waterdrops all around the place.
Dunno what it was all about, but walking through the cave both actors were seized by the cold and the wet.
Get a coat.
During breakfast on the day-after, the couple on the stage get to know each other for the first time.
It's about shyness, vulnerability, fear, you name it ;-)
I was happy with the violin sample, which is as fragile as the instrument itself.

Again a 'theatre' song, you will hear some mechanical moving band sounds of maybe a old textile factory and a background radio, but it also can be seen as a supermarket on Mars.
I can't help it but the father of the male actor wasn't a very lucky man. Before he drowned in the first song here, he lost one of his arms, after being captured by a machine in the factory, while he was doing his job.
We still controll the machines, but wait till they take over...and eat us...shrink and shiver anno 2004...

Well, there was also some heavy action on that stage, I made this one to underline this.
Some basic Rebirth stuff, with a well known aria singing Italian voice involved, it concerns a long sample which I also used in Heartbeat.
I cut the song down from 11 to 5 minutes, after all a website isn't a theatre stage, is it?

Where I live, in Nijmegen/the Netherlands, a club music oriented party series hold it's tenth year jubilee party in september 2002.
This song got to be played by the soundsystem of that jubilee party, during which a master of ceremony did his dedicated jubilee speech (his name is Ron Vervuurt, worldwide famous in at least Nijmegen and surroundings).
The english spoken phrases are pre-recorded in the original audio file, and were supposed to offer a time guideline for the life spoken speach.
Later we actually recorded his speech in my studio, and I chained this recording, together with some 'life audience' samples, to the original mix, which now seems to be life recorded as a whole.
The speech of course is in Dutch, he mentions how it all started, and gives a big thank you to all the volunteers as well to the loyal public that kept faithfull all those years.
Without translating the obvious I'm sure you will get the message, just listen to the english spoken samples, they fit to the current phrases :-)
We've never seen a single Xtravaganza since, so this jubilee was just in time ;-)
Anyway, ...in very good memories...
